Dimensional Art

Merridee finds joy in harvesting, as well as seeking out and discovering natural elements for their particular visual traits. Shape, size and textures of natural materials, along with the rhythm of repetition, become inspirational in relation to each other. She consciously creates using natural elements without changing the integrity of their original form. One example of the harmony between natural shape and added elements is seen in her many hand-wrapped, artist-grown curly willow branches. Merridee’s own details added to the natural elements transcend the expected limits of an object’s innate appeal.
